Community ICT Project Beneficiaries
EKOWISA offers basic computer literacy classes to women of all ages
residing in rural and low income urban communities. The women are
trained on how to use the internet, email digital video cameras
and other ICT tools for sustainable development. Here are some testimonials
from beneficiaries of the Community ICT project in Highfield-Glen
Norah, Mubayira and Mutoko community sites.

‘EKOWISA
has helped me a lot because long before EKOWISA came to Mubayira
l thought that computers were meant for men only not knowing
that women can use the tool too.
l did not know how a computer works but through the dissemination
of information that was done by EKOWISA l now know that every
person can do so many things using a computer such as sending
messages using an e-mail , marketing goods through the internet.
l am now able to film birthday parties, wedding ceremonies including
many gatherings through the use of a digital video cameras .
All this knowledge was imparted to me by EKOWISA computer training
lessons which l attended. l thank EKOWISA for bringing change
to Mubayira community ‘ |

‘l was
very backward before EKOWISA came to this community ,l did
not know how to market my interior décor material ,
church and school uniforms to people . l thought only university
degree holders were the ones who can use computers and digital
cameras but all these changed when EKOWISA came.
l was glad when EKOWISA came to
Mutoko because the organization trained me about computers
inclusive of the e-mail , internet and the digital video camera.
l now know how to operate the digital video camera and that
l can get many clients from around the world through the use
of the Internet. l thank Mrs. Zunguze for the encouragement
and information on ICTs she gave us .’
